For churches

Listing standards

We want every church that welcomes visitors to be easy to find.

We want every church that welcomes visitors to be easy to find. A listing on NearFaith is always free, and it is added when all of the following are true.

  1. A Christian congregation

A worshipping community that gathers regularly and confesses Jesus Christ as Lord. We list churches across many Christian traditions and don't rank one above another.

  2. A public place to meet

A street address where visitors are welcome to attend. Meeting in a school, theater or rented hall is completely fine. A P.O. box or an online-only gathering can't be listed as a place to visit.

  3. A public presence

A website of the church's own, or another public page that shows the church and where it meets. A church website gives visitors the most to go on.

  4. Regular gathering times

Service times a visitor could plan around, such as Sundays at 10 AM.

  5. Not something else

A listing is for a congregation, so we don't add:

    • a business, product or service (consulting, venue rental, fundraising and the like)
    • advertising or promotional content
    • a church that's already listed (claim that listing instead)
    • a private, invitation-only group with no public meeting place (a house church that publicly welcomes visitors is fine)
    • a group whose name, website or teaching promotes hatred or violence against anyone
    • a group outside the Christian traditions NearFaith lists

How to resubmit

  • If a submission wasn't added, you're welcome to send it again once the church meets the points above.
  • The church's own website and its service times help most.
  • Each submission gets one email with the result. Nothing else.
