General guidance · Catholic churches · not specific to Saint Benedict Chapel
A structured liturgical service (Mass) with Scripture readings, homily, and the Eucharist. Multiple Mass times are typically offered throughout the week and on weekends.
Catholic parishes offer a rich tradition of faith rooted in 2,000 years of Christian history. All are welcome to attend Mass, though full participation in sacraments is reserved for Catholics.
What Catholic parishes generally believe
Catholics believe in the Trinity, Jesus Christ as the Son of God who died and rose again, and the Bible as God's Word, read together with Sacred Tradition as taught by the Church's bishops in communion with the Pope. Salvation is God's gift of grace in Christ, received in faith and lived out in love and the seven sacraments. The Eucharist — believed to be the real Body and Blood of Christ — is the centre of worship at Mass.
Compared with Protestant churches: both share the ancient creeds and the authority of Scripture, but most Protestants hold Scripture alone as the final authority, recognise two sacraments (baptism and the Lord's Supper) rather than seven, and have no Pope.
