General guidance · Evangelical Covenant Church churches · not specific to Valley Covenant Church
Bible-centered preaching, congregational worship, and active outreach. Small groups are usually central to community life.
Evangelical churches are centered on the gospel and personal faith. You'll find a welcoming community that takes Scripture seriously and genuinely cares about new people.
What Evangelical churches generally believe
Evangelical churches believe in the Trinity, Jesus Christ as the Son of God who died and rose again, and the Bible as God's Word, with Scripture as the final authority. They emphasise personal faith in Jesus Christ, salvation by grace through faith, sharing the gospel, and practical Bible teaching. Most baptise professing believers.
Compared with Catholics: evangelicals affirm the same core teaching about God and Christ, but hold Scripture alone as the final authority, usually recognise two ordinances (baptism and the Lord's Supper) rather than seven sacraments, and have no Pope.
