What Holiness-tradition churches (Nazarene, Wesleyan) generally believe

Churches in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition believe in the Trinity, Jesus Christ as the Son of God who died and rose again, and the Bible as God's Word, and that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ. Growing out of Methodism, they especially emphasise holy living and "entire sanctification" — a work of the Holy Spirit that frees the believer to love God and neighbour wholeheartedly.

Compared with Catholics: both stress growth in holiness, but Holiness churches hold Scripture as the final authority, recognise two sacraments, and have no Pope. Compared with Reformed Protestants, they place more weight on human free response to God's grace.
