What Churches of Christ generally believe
Churches of Christ believe in the Trinity, Jesus Christ as the Son of God who died and rose again, and the Bible as God's Word, and aim to follow the pattern of the New Testament church without creeds beyond the Bible. Baptism by immersion of believers is taught as part of responding to the gospel, the Lord's Supper is shared every Sunday, singing is often a cappella, and each congregation is led by its own elders.
Compared with Catholics: both celebrate communion weekly and see baptism as important to salvation, but Churches of Christ baptise only believers, have no creeds, clergy hierarchy or Pope, and look to the New Testament alone. Compared with Baptists, they differ mainly on the role of baptism and weekly communion.
