Pilot — the model, not a live product

How NearFaith Care will work

Here's the plan in plain language — the request flow, the limits, what's covered, and the ground rules that keep this dignified and honest. None of this is live yet; this is what we're building toward.

The request flow

  1. 1

    Create an account

A simple account — no lengthy application up front.

  2. 2

    Choose your church

Pick the church you actually attend from NearFaith's directory.

  3. 3

Church rep confirms the need is real

A verified rep at that church confirms they know you and that the need is genuine — the same trust that already exists between a member and their church, just formalized.

  4. 4

    Review

The request is checked against published limits and the list of what's covered.

  5. 5

Help is paid toward the expense

Wherever practical, funds go straight to the vendor — not handed over as cash by default.

Limits

The pilot starts small on purpose — small dollar amounts, mean small risk while we prove the model works.

  • Standard requests

    Around $500

  • With extra review

    Up to $1,000

  • Active requests

    One at a time

These caps are configurable and will be published and enforced before any funds move — they're not final numbers yet.

What's not covered

NearFaith Care is built for genuine, smaller needs — not everything qualifies.

Dignity & privacy

  • Never public begging — no one's story is put on display to solicit help.
  • Identity is never exposed on any public page.
  • Church membership status is never published.

Not a loan — ever

NearFaith Care is not a lending program. No interest, no repayment schedule, no debt created. If help is awarded, it's given — full stop.

For church reps

Verification asks a church rep for two things, and two things only:

  • 1.Confirm you actually know the person and their connection to your church.
  • 2.Confirm the need itself looks legitimate — nothing more.

A church rep is never asked to guarantee repayment, put up money, or take on any financial risk. Verification is a confirmation, not a co-sign.

My church wants to participate

Tell us who you are and we'll reach out when church verification opens for the pilot.

We'll only use this to let you know when the pilot opens up.

The Care pilot is not accepting money yet — this just lets us reach you when it does.

Where things actually stand

  • NearFaith Care is a pilot. Nothing above is live yet.
  • No funds are being accepted right now, from anyone.
  • The legal and charitable structure this will run through is pending attorney review.
  • Contributions will not be tax-deductible unless and until a qualified charitable structure exists to receive them — we will never claim otherwise.
